an experience Determination of the acceleration in free fall

the goal:

Determine the acceleration of free fall

Materials and tools:

a jug of water with a control tap - stopwatch - metal plate - metric tape - horizontal table

Steps:

1-Place the bowl on the horizontal table.

2-Place the metal plate under the faucet nozzle.

3-Measure the distance between the faucet and the bowl using the metric tape.

4-Open the faucet nozzle and adjust it with regular drops.

5-Now set the time for 100 consecutive drops using the stopwatch.

6-Calculate the time for one drop to fall by the relationship:

t= Drops for total time fall / drops number

7-Calculate the gravitational acceleration using the second equation of motion

g=2d/t2

Note:

We observe that the drops fall uniformly at a constant speed

Conclusion:

The acceleration due to gravity: is the uniform acceleration with which objects move during their free fall towards the surface of the earth and is equal to 9.8 m/s2
