The hydrogen atom discrete spectroscopy
Hydrogen gas electrical discharge tube - triple glass prism - white screen - two vertical micro-slits opposite each other - metal rod - connecting wires
1-Connect the positive terminal of the voltage source to the base of the electrical discharge tubes using the connecting wires.
2-Connect the negative terminal of the voltage source to the metal rod using the connecting wires.
3-Place the vertical slits, prism, and white screen in a straight path.
4-Now adjust the voltage source 10 KV.
5-Bring the metal rod close to the electrode tube and see what happens.
1- We notice the emission of light from the electrical discharge tube passing through the vertical slits
2- Observe the analysis of light by the glass prism
3- We notice that 4 colored lines are separated by dark areas on the fluorescent screen
The spectrum produced by the electrical discharge of gasses is linear or discrete
