the goal:

Setting the Appropriate Height for Heating in a Gas Flame

Materials and tools:

Graduated cylinder - Four beakers - Gas stove - Bunsen burner - Thermometer - Ring stand - Heating ring - Ruler - Stopwatch - Distilled water

Steps:

Turn on the gas flow and ignite the stove by bringing a Bunsen burner close to the nozzle, then adjust the flow of gas and oxygen.

2. Place the beaker on the heating grid and measure the time it takes for the water to start boiling.

3. Adjust the height of the grid and repeat the previous steps with the remaining beakers, measuring the time it takes for each one to boil.

Note:

We notice that the water boils in less time when the height of the heating grid is equal to the inner dark color of the gas flame.

Conclusion:

We conclude that the flame is at its maximum intensity when the oxygen inlet is fully open and the height is adjusted to the point where it matches the inner dark color of the gas flame.
