Materials and tools:

Glass beaker - water - string - moss plant - scale - stopwatch - mask

Steps:

1- Put a quantity of moss plant on a piece of thin cloth, then tie it in the form of a ball.

2- Measure the mass of the cloth ball containing the algae.

3- Fill a cup with some water and put the ball in it.

4- Lift the ball after 15 minutes and dry it from the water.

5- Measure the mass of the ball again, and measure the volume of water remaining in the cup.

6- Notice the change in the volume of the water.

Note:

Notice the lack of water in the cup

We conclude a method for calculating the amount of water absorbed by algae in an experimental way.
