Explaining the factors that affect the process of photosynthesis.
Glass beaker - Glass funnel - Test tube - Aquatic plant - Sodium bicarbonate - Light source
1- Fill the glass with water.
2- Add a quantity of sodium bicarbonate to the water.
3- Place the aquatic plant in the glass and invert the glass funnel over it.
4- Fill a test tube with water and place it over the glass funnel.
‘
5- Control the intensity of the light using the control switches and also the temperature by adjusting the distance of the light source.
6- Count the number of gas bubbles in each case.
The number of gas bubbles increases with increasing intensity of light and temperature.
The process of photosynthesis primarily depends on the presence of strong light and suitable temperature, and we can infer the occurrence of photosynthesis by the evolution of oxygen gas, which accumulates in the test tube.
